Supreme Book Vol. 5 Leopard Towel + Mickey Stickers

30 10 2009

Supreme Book Vol. 5 Leopard Towel + Mickey Stickers

While Terry Richardson’s scandalously provocative shots of model Rosa Acosta might be the highlight for many who managed to get their hands on Supreme’s Book Vol. 5 which features its Autumn/Winter 2009 collection, there are other aspects of the book that are highly covetable and happily surprising. Check the leopard towel with large “Supreme” logo printed across it (because everyone can use some sexy animal print linen in their bathrooms) and the special Mickey stickers (recall the Supreme X Disney collaboration). The book is already available for purchase both in store and online. So, grab yours, hang up the towel, deface some household items with Disney’s favorite and do remember to go through Supreme’s features on Wu-Tang’s The RZA, Eric Koston, Diddy, Damien Hirst… and not just stop after perusing all of Acosta’s barely-there-bikini shots.

Supreme x John Coltrane

19 10 2009

Supreme x John Coltrane

Last year, we saw legendary Jazz trumpeteer Miles Davis on three Supreme shirts to mark the 50th anniversary of Kind of Blue, a quintessential album in the Jazz canon. This year, another Goliath in the improvisational phase of jazz, John Coltrane, is honored by Supreme. On October 22nd, these three t-shirts will be available at the Supreme LA and NY stores, as well as online. These shirts, released in conjunction with the John Coltrane foundation, honor a musician whose legacy is one of innovation and longevity. The artwork from Coltrane’s Sound is featured on one shirt (painted by Marvin Israel), another features the uncropped photo that graced the cover of A Love Supreme, and another features four photos, one from the cover of the Blue Note release, Blue Train. Supreme continues to honor musicians from points on the musical spectrum, and if you’re a fan of ‘Trane, get yours when they release on the 22nd.

Supreme Toolbox

One of the items we didn’t previewed with the rest of the Supreme Fall/Winter 2009 Collection was this Supreme Toolbox that is a part of the larger accessories collection from Supreme. The Red toolbox features a tonal Supreme logo on the top of the toolbox. While this item is being called the toolbox it is actually in fact quite small, measuring only 6 inches in length, 2 inches in height, and 1 inch in depth. You can pick up the Supreme Fall/Winter 2009 Toolbox now at select Supreme retailers or Cliff Edge.

apc supreme 2009 fall winter collection 01 A.P.C. x Supreme Collection

In a collaboration mentioned some time ago, the A.P.C. x Supreme collection will hit stores early next month. Within the capsule are two differnet pieces, a pair of denim and a graphic t-shirt. The denim takes cues from A.P.C.’s iconic New Standard with additional back-pocket emroidery and a pin. The t-shirt comes in two variations, a red one for Supreme stores and a black one for A.P.C. stores. The collection goes on sale in the US both online and in-store on October 1st, 2009 while Japan will release two days later on October 3rd.

In 1987, Tunis native Jean Touitou created the French fashion label A.P.C. (Atelier de Production et de Creation). Over the years A.P.C. has distinguished itself as a prestigious clothier of fine apparel based on classic items and silhouettes. A.P.C. is headquartered in Paris with primary stores sprinkled across various parts of the world including France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Tokyo and the US.

For fall 2009 A.P.C. and Supreme will present a two piece capsule of a denim jean and graphic t-shirt. The jean, a specially designed version of A.P.C.’s classic New Standard style, will feature a back pocket embroidery and a removable pin. The tee will come in two colors; red (available exclusively at Supreme stores) and black (available exclusively at A.P.C. Stores).

Available in-store and online on October 1st. Available in Japan on October 3rd.

Supreme: Downtown New York Skate Culture

14 09 2009

Supreme Supreme: Downtown New York Skate Culture

Supreme is not just a skateboarding brand– since it first opened its doors on Lafayette Street in 1994, the brand became home to the NYC skate culture and evolved into an attitude brand all in its own right.

As the one who had been in the center of the scene, there seems to be no one more fitting to tell the story of skate culture in New York than Supreme. To put the  scene in narrative perspective, Aaron Bondaroff was sought out to pen the tales of skateboarding in the city. Aaron Bondaroff (who started aNYthing) had been a part of Supreme for a while. After dropping out of high school when he was fifteen, Aaron was quickly picked up and hired by Supreme where later became the unofficial face of Supreme after being featured and photograph for many Supreme ads.

Published by Rizzoli New York, the hardcover book will be released in April 2010 at $50 per pop. A must-have at home for fans of Supreme and all who rode the deck, rides the deck and lives for the deck.

The collection releases next Thursday, September 3rd at their New York and Los Angeles locations, two days later in Japan, and on the 10th through their online shop.
