Made In England had just crossed the English Channel over to Paris and teamed up with two contemporary French cools, colette and La MJC, and created a pair of New Balance 1500 from the sports label’s coveted Made In England collection. The new sneaker is rendered in a simple and classic color of red suede with grey accents, and an added vintage touch comes in the form of a leather collar. The insoles are printed with “Sans Morts”, which means no deaths in English. The sneakers are set to drop in mid-November at Cool Cats and colette, so keep an eye out!
New Balance has retro fitted the classic BB680 for cold-weather outdoor activities. The one-time basketball kick is now mountain ready with galvanized metal eyelets, braided boot style laces, and a rugged all purpose sole. The shoes are offered in a classic nubuck tan, and a brushed suede purple iteration. Both versions are set to drop in October at select New Balance distributors across South East Asia.
Over a quarter of a century ago, outdoor hiking boots were firmly on the product development agenda, and in 1982 a shoe was developed with Rainier Mountaineering to mark the first American ascent of the North Wall of Everest. The New Balance 710 takes its inpiration from this boot with its lug sole and detailed stichings. The yellow version is part of the upcoming spring/summer 2011 line-up, features a suede-ripstop-upper and is set to drop by the end of January, 2011.
Having not seen too many customs out of New Balance, British comedian Eddie Izzard was given a special pair of 576s for a monumental feat performed on behalf of Sports Relief. Running 43 marathons in 51 days, his footwear of choice with the old reliable 576 was seen in a simple black suede version. On the heel is the Sports Relief logo while Eddie’s personal touches are seen along the front and tongue. The miraculous feat was documented in a three part series which will be available through the BBC iPlayer.
All New Balance models are numbered and the 574 is a very popular running model that have evolved through out the years. M574 is a revised version that is equipped with ABZORB system for great cushioning and Encap for heel support. There are four colors produced in red, white, purple and brown colors accented with silver N logo on the side. Contrasting the smooth leather upper is the side accent that is made with grained leather in grey or beige colors. Tongue tags are also color coded with the color of the uppers and grey shoe laces are packaged with the sneakers.
Although it’s winter season in America, it’s summer in Africa, so why not release a shoe pack to go with the season? New Balance is celebrating the tropics with the New Balance Tropical Outdoor pack, which consists of the P600 and C1001 models. The New Balance P600 gets two colorful mockups for men and women, respectively, while the C1001 also gets two colorways for its CM1001GB and CM1001KB models. Aside from the tropical influence on the colors, the insole also gets the tropical treatment with some fitting prints. You can cop a pair from this pack for $111 at your local New Balance retailer.
Japanese retailer, atmos, has teamed up with New Balance yet again to create a new version of the New Balance M576 ‘Face Off 2 Turbo’. The model has been fitted with a Black/Pink colorway, featuring a speckled Black upper, Pink midsole/lining, quilted toe box, and glow-in-the-dark New Balance logo.
