Yet another solid presentation from New York Fashion Week is Balmain’s diffusion line,Pierre Balmain that derives its Fall/Winter 2013 collection from classic rock ‘n’ roll, yet gravitates it towards a more and obviously mature nature. Leather biker jackets and high leather boots maintains the rebel aesthetic while trench coats, two-piece suits and stiff button-down shirts bring on the London’s mod vibe. Clean and timeless, the Pierre Balmain range stands strong on its own bringing a decidedly comprehensive aesthetic to the Balmain name. via-HYPEBEAST

Herschel Supply Co. 2013 Spring Bad Hills “Bird Print” Collection

Image of Herschel Supply Co. 2013 Spring Bad Hills "Bird Print" Collection

Herschel Supply Co. has certainly come a long way since its early days of basic colors and its core bag silhouettes. Consistently blending the pining for the great outdoors and a sense of urban liberation with the aesthetic tenants of traditional accessory goods and heritage garb, the Canadian brand seems to grow more mature in its identity, season-after-season. From color blocked canvases to all-over print patterns, 2013 sees the label experimenting with various nature influences to elevate its staple pieces for spring. One of the notable themes from its Spring 2013 Bad Hills collection arrives via the “Bird Print” range. As the title implies, Herschel layers the Little America, Novel Duffle and Woodlands Backpack in a muted natural undertone hue with a bold matif of pirched birds. Tan leather accents and brushed brass hardware complete the seasonal look, while a customary embroidered Herschel Supply Co. tag along the anterior panels round things out.

The Herschel Supply Co. Bad Hills Collection is now available from our online store. Shop now here.

Video

Video Premiere: Bruno Mars-When i was your man.

Bruno Mars premiered the official music video for his second single off “Unorthodox Jukebox”, the piano-led ballad, “When I Was Your Man”. It’s too simple to even say something about it, as he’s just singing along the playback while playing the piano, in front of a blue setting. The only thing I can comment on, is his terrible hair styling and them glasses. I will forgive him though, ‘cause the music is pure brilliance.

Is Hedi Slimane taking over YSL from Stefano Pilati?

Hedi Slimane left Dior Homme in 2007 and ever since concentrated on his photography career. He left when Dior Homme had become a highly successful line for the Dior House and people were hoping for him to return into fashion eventually.

Now according to WWD, sources are saying that just that might happen very soon. Apparently Slimane is about to take over th helm at Yves Saint Laurent, currently headed by designer Stefano Pilati.

We know the fashion world would highly welcome the move. Hopefully we can confirm the rumor very soon.
